Meanwhile on the day the british government are to introduce same sex marriage and abortion in the north all of a sudden the quota needed to have a recall of assembly has been reached, they will meet today but nothing will happen, SDLP and Alliance say it is a political stunt by DUP, SF have called on British government to carry out their promise, Some may that is ironic in itself,

Stevie Baker leaked his own speech to the ERG meeting on Saturday.
Referencing a Mark Francois "fight them on the beaches" type speech made just before.

The direction of travel here is no deal by any means necessary.

Well Boris wrote not one letter but three. He didn't sign the important one.
Does that make it void???
(I know he was in a ditch so maybe he dictated it, or else he was lying down in front of the bulldozers in Heathrow)

Conan?

First one was the letter as in the legislation as if they had printed it from the bill, without him signing it.
Second one was from No.10 saying the first one was from parliament according to the letter of the Benn Act (i.e. not Boris).
Third one was Boris saying he didn't want an extension.

Yesterday, Alliance Party leader and MEP Naomi Long said that “intention of this recall is not to block abortion law and equal marriage, but to create the illusion the DUP are trying to do so”.

Naomi on point as usual.

They really shouldn't have turned on him.
Also, loving that the complaint here is about a remainer blocking a second vote.

Yeah it could well suit the DUP hierarchy to give the impression they were fully against Abortion and Same Sex Marriage to keep their creationist wing on board, while the more liberal young unionists see them both as on the statute books now so no longer an issue on whether or not to vote DUP as the creationist wing have been circumvented.
