This isn't a post-fame reaction I just find them intensely dreary and their lyrics are frankly embarassing. But hey tis all subjective, I'm only offering MY take on them.

If you like them and their thang, then more power to you.

It is quite clear that, rather than the lyrics being embarrassing, you are actually embarrasssed by the lyrics, check yourself out, or get some one who's not so biased to do it for you. You have mentioned how "embarrassing" they are a few times now.

I'm with LD on this one. I really want to like this guy but this kind of stuff is making it hard:

"Let me show you the back room
Where I saw the dead
Dancing like children
On a midsummer morn
And they asked me to join
They asked me to join"

Dancing like children on a midsummer morn?? ffs

That is the most fantastically eerie song I have ever heard. The end is haunting.
Each to their own I suppose but personally I love the lyrics of that song! Give the guy a little bit of credit- for his musicianship if not his lyrics. Playing and arranging all the instruments on an album is no mean feat (he did enlist the help of an orchestra for a handful of songs..shock shock )

I'm sorry you missed out, LsD should have taken to this fabuloss fun instinctively. Any way, no time, gotta dance!

It's obviously about suicide. I think you are removing it from the coffins context and turning it into a drug addlingly simplified form of attempted rudicule. You will fail in this aim, as any cross eyed visionary would expect to. I'm not saying you take drugs, maybe hinting that you should, even though I don't recommend them highly enough.
