Default player ratings

what a day
what a team
what a result

my player ratings are as follows:

Donal Og: 9. probably his best game in the blood and bandages. 3 or 4 great stops. my man of the match.
pat mul: 8 . looked like he would be beaten a few times but he never let his man inside him.
Diarmuid sul: 8. it looked like that early yellow would hold him back. but it made him concentrate on playing the ball. does his primary job of defending like no other. set of up a great goal with a pin point pass.
brain murphy: 8 just gets better and better. never looked threatened.
john gardiner: 7. played on galways best forward on the day. he had his hands full but kept going and finished very strong. hurler of the year.
ronan curran. 8 confounded everything i said of him afer the semi-final. played a stormer and had his man taken off. cometh the housr cometh the man.
sean og:8. collossus. a man apart in a team of men. a great leader for a great day.
tom kenny: 7. massive first half and chipped in with a few points. tempo dropped a tad in the second but kept gpoing to the bitter end.
gerry o'c :7. not as dominant as in the past. but kept at it and never allowed galway the same kind of freedom they got in the kilkenny game.
ben: 8.5. you an't argue with a guy that got 1-5 from play in an all-ireland final. lived up to his billing as a top hurler.
niall mac:5. tried to compete but there was too much ball lost around the galway half back line for comfort. on the plus side he never allowed the galway centre back an easy clearence.
timmy: 7. up until half time it looked like he was going to have a blinder. allowed his man a few handy clearences in teh second half but i think he had his bit done by then. he never gave up and fully deserves his 3rd medal.
kieran o'connor: 3. never got in a blow and probably should have been taken off lng before half time. needs to deliver now on all that promise.
brian corcoran: 7. started in fantastic form taking points and setting up chances. legs probably went afer 30 minutes but battled away. a testement to the determination that this man has in lorry loads.
joe: 3. it makes me cry not to be talking this man up. what happened joe??
i'm just going to pretend that it was all a dream.
neil ronan: 6. the game was crying out for him to be brought on but he didn't really get into it. having said that he scored one and won at least one other so it earned his medal.
the other kieran murphy:2. maybe he wasn't on long enough.
