Nice idea but getting round all of the Estates esp at 4.30/5 in the evening would be an impossibility with the traffic building up.
People can walk to and from the station or even cycle, if they were bothered but I guess the usual excuses will be trotted out.

Whoops someone made a bo bo writing that article;

The race will be held in Youghal, Co. Cork which is located approximately 45 minutes west of Cork city*

Have they the right place mentioned? It's not Bantry they mean by any chance?

The train isn't coming back. Fantastical to think otherwise. A greenway from Midleton to Youghal would be brilliant. Loads of people drive past Youghal to go to the Waterford greenway in Dungarvan, like I will on bank holiday Monday.

How did you get on? Was it fantastical? Were there any scobes drinking and acting the maggot?
