Steven Gerrard
Royston - back in his Ramblers days esp.
Hulk Hogan (oh the memories)

Close but no Cigar

Brian O'Driscoll - will injuries ruin his chances of becoming a true legend of the sport?

Alan Iverson - Fabulous talent but has yet to elevate himself to legend status (imho) & may not ever do so.

I'd have to add John Barnes to that list too, one of the best players of his generation.

4 Corks midfield pairing of teddy mac and tompkins... they'd tear iron.. esp teddy with 2 all irelands in the same year
5 Diarmuid Sull... nobody gets me as wound up with his good old fashioned hard hurling... nearly fell off the upper canal end when he put the whole kk full forward line on their ass and stood with the ball in raised fist like a gladiator to 85,000.....aaaaaaaaa aahhhh
6 tony sull and john fenton

soccer

1 roy keane.. nuff said
2 paul mcgrath.. none of this ive a sore toe.. i cant play shit... gave everything for his country till he couldnt walk anymore
3 zinedine zidane.... dont confuse that with zizu kilbane!!
4 Davey Barry.. legend of a goal against bayern munich
5 George O Callaghan.. well on his way to becoming an absolute legend at the cross
6 damien duff.. the most skillful soccer player ever to pull on the green.. an essential part of the chelski 'we can buy anyone we want' team that will prob dominate soccer for quite a while to come
