Default GAA need to rethink ticket allocation !

I supported the hurlers at all the championship matches (bar the all Ireland semi final due to work commitments) And then i couldn't for love nor money get my hands on a final ticket ! And then to top it off a mate of mine (who owns a pub) tells me he was there with his aul doll and sister. Neither 3 knew wether the ball was pumped or stuffed !

Croke Park explain missing tickets scenario
Tuesday, September 13, 2005

The GAA has announced that following an internal investigation it has been established why approximately 1000 seats were unoccupied at last Sunday’s Guinness All Ireland Hurling finals.

The tickets in question were located in Croke Park earlier today. They had inadvertently been packaged as Football Final tickets and were with various allocations of tickets awaiting distribution for the Kerry v Tyrone game. The problem was caused by an administrative error.

The GAA has said that it is deeply regretted that a mistake such as this should occur and has reiterated its apology to supporters and to the County Boards of the participating counties. The problem that arose has never happened previously and steps have already been taken to assure that there is not a re-occurrence.

The attendance of 81,136 was the largest attendance at an All Ireland hurling final since 1956.

Bunch of apes.

Every year people complain of the same thing and still every year it happens. There's nothing you can do to change it. I went to all the games and I got to the final. Someone who works with me went to no game and got to the final. It's a pisser but it's the way it is so no offence but tough shit. We're all in the same scramble for tickets and the GAA will lift its skirt to the richest passer by. Them's the breaks.

You could always drive a wedge between your buddy and his old doll and then declare your love for him. You never know, this time next year the two of you could be cuddled up in Premium level.

That's a reasonable point. I agree that it's a load of bullshit that people who have no interest whatsoever get tickets but there's very little that will ever be done about it. It's the same with most things in this country, it's more a case of who you know than what you know! It's the same in big events all over the world.

Thumbs up All Ireland Tickets

I am very involved with a club in Dublin and our club got 9 tickets for the hurling All Ireland.Because of the work I do with the club I got 2 tickets but there were alot of people who are mad hurling fans and they could not get tickets. Most of the tickets go to the sponsers.
Anyone got any tickets(1 or 2) for the All Ireland football final? I can be contacted through this site.
