Default Chris Hughton

Surely in line for Championship Manager of the Year after the job he's done at B'ham. Lost most of the squad from last year yet they have a great chance of promotion. Nice to see him doing well.

Nigel Adkins brought Southampton up from League 1 to the championship last May and 12 months later is going to bring them into the PL.

Hard to top that.

True. But did Adkins have money to spend? Hughton could only make do with loans and free transfers

Hughton has done well but he was working with the bones of a PL team whereas Adkins was working with a League 1 team. The only major purchase I can think of is Billy Sharp

Great work done by Hughton-can see them winning the play offs allright.

Then after a few early losses in the prem hughton will be fired and end up at wolves or blackburn who will be in the championship

I'll tell ya one thing about Hughton - he loves Colin Calderwood.

Meanwhile across Birmingham, Hughton's predecessor, Big Eck, is doing a less than impressive job at Aston Villa.

He's a good manager and was vey badly treated at Newcastle.
What's the story at Newcastle? I was hoping after the way they treated Hughton that it would cost them, same as McCarthy at Wolves this season.

Is Pardew that good? A lot of it has to go down to the players they have signed but Pardew has them playing.

Hughton for the next Ireland manager is a good shout.
