Weekends in A&E are epic by all accounts. Staff in first name terms with patients.

Not forgetting the week that it is where the majority of “emergency” admissions are senior citizens who “took a turn and are just not themselves” ie in the way for Christmas

In an ideal world drunks brought to A&E would be treated in separate locations from non self inflicted cases,

I was talking to an ambulance driver last week. Told me Christmas day is busier than new years eve in general. I couldn't believe it, and asked him why.

Domestic violence. Families getting drunk and beating the shit out of each other. He said it usually starts about 4pm, and carries on all night.

You should refer to them as paramedics not drivers, they are a breed apart from the city council drivers who work to rule and sit in the truck reading the paper while seanie and willie do the work.

Same with barring order applications. They skyrocket this time of year.
