Results from Avondhu:

Kilshannig 3-24 Ballyclough 0-5. Was going to this game in the hope there'd be a bit of bite but it was the exact opposite. Kilshannig were hopping off the ground. A team full of their Under 21 team who beat Nemo last night and led by Killian O Hanlon. I'd be expected them to go a long way in the County championship. But the most striking thing about tonight was how poor Ballyclough were. They've won 3 of the last 6 or 7 North Cork's but have gone back a lot. Looked like a team who weren't training. They've had a few retirements and Colm O Neill is now in goals. That has an impact too I suppose.

Kilworth 2-15 Buttevant 1-8. A bit of a shock here but it looks like Buttevant are going backwards even with their strong underage in recent times. Kilworth seem to be going well in both football and hurling so could be dark horses.

Charleville 3-9 Liscarroll/Churchtown Gaels 0-4. No surprise here. Charleville should be there or there abouts.

Kilshannig will be serious contenders based on that performance. Rumour has it that kilworth only trained once in football this year, could win north cork but won’t pay much attention to it after that if they’re still in contention for the hurling.

Was at the opening round of the Mid Cork championship this week between kilmichael and Clondrohid. Finished 3.7 to 15 to Kilmichael.

Clondrohid had many opportunities to win this game but their discipline really let them down. Kilmichael are a young side be gamely Peter Kelleher led the line very well with 2.4 from play and had 3 men on him for a lot of the game.

Huge crowd at the game and there was a big bite about it. Neither of the two teams will come close to Iveleary but a good contest all the same.

On a side note I though the clondrohid bank was a disgrace and this is coming from a natural some of the stuff they were shouting at Kelleher was embarrassing but knowing clondrohid over the years they are kind of like the Millwall of Mid Cork..crap football crap fans. They ruin themselves with internal fighting etc over hurling and stuff a really bitter club. Kilmichael a proud tradition and try and play good brand but will be a good few years before they will be competitive again in mid cork.

Sad to see what's happening with Ballyclough. I rate Killshannig very highly will win county at some stage over next few years.

This is the least “natural”(neutral) report I’ve ever seen. There’s no point coming on here trying to nail other teams with digs trying to be a neutral when you’re clearly not. You outed yourself as a Kilmichael man previously when on about your hatred of Cloughduv hurling and don’t try tell us otherwise.

By all means give a report but leave out the cheap(funny as it was) digs!

This year might be too early but they have a tradition of senior/intermediate football and have lots of good young players coming up the likes of which a senior club would envy.
