Just a few positive comments on Red that I think are worth mentioning.

I feel Red has improved since they moved some of the more inexperienced DJs on to the daytime slots.

In particular I think KC and Stevie G sound good in the slots they wouldn't be musically attached to. KC sounds comfortable in the morning and actually makes Viv sound much better than she did. Charlie Wolfe seemed to impose his personality on the show and when she spoke she just sounded like a giggling teenager on work experience.

Now KC and Viv sound more like equals....maybe like they might be friends and get along when the mic is turned off. Her mild Cork accent is strangely refreshing.

Its good to hear somebody like Stevie G on the radio as well in the afternoon when you walk into a shop. He sounds like somebody you'd know yourself which for me is the reason I can tolerate afternoon and evening Red but not 96.

Colm O'Sullivan sounds much more at ease now as well the few times I've heard him. Well done to them.

Saying all that I still think Cork is crying out for real community radio - another license with a not so commercial outlook.

I'll probably get grief for saying this, especially as the guy seems to be generally thought of a legend, (& he probably is but I don't know him personally so I can't comment), but I have to admit I can't listen to the show anymore since Stevie took over. His voice kinda gets on my nerves.

What we need is someone to shake the music up its more like 96. DYPoff went from 4hrs to 0 house music in 2years.

I think you could say that about any radio DJ.

What about asking 97.4 Cork Campus Radio to do just that? - at the moment CCR broadcast nothing at night, its not going to get in the way of their existing programmes?
