Default The music of Jethro Tull

Whilst i was too young to remember their hayday in the seventies, I have discovered them in the last 3 or four years. All I can say is outstanding......Fro m heavy horses to thick as a brick to songs from the wood. The albums are just outstanding. I saw them last year in Providence and never a better performance have I seen...all from a bunch of fifty/sixty somethings...it defies logic. I am reminded of Dave fannings truism that I heard a long time ago. Their is only two kinds of music...good and bad.

Anyone else think Tull are cool or am i being carried off in a wave of seventies folk rock nostalgia that speaks to the old pagan influences?

Tull rhymes with dull, we used to say back in the Punk Rock days. But in retrospect they were better than any of the crap SexPistols Damned etc that we were conned into thinking was music.

interesting...i thought the sex pistols beef was with people like Pink Floyd hence the T-shirt...I hate pink floyd sported by johnny rotten.............. .........never thought that they'd issues with Tull.

Best Tull album in you opinion?

By the way...ian Anderson .... even fills in with the BBC philharmonic orchestra i believe. He is an amazing flute player.

i suppose comparing punk with folk/prog rock is a bit like comparing chalk and cheese....?

Any way if their are other opinions on Tull please contribute....
