Default AerLingus small carry on bag size question

I will be amongst (4) adults travelling to London soon for a few days. I was told not to bother checking carry on bags in at the desk, but I have been reading that Aer Lingus is strict about the size of the small backpack or travel case you want to carry on. Has anyone had trouble with Aer Lingus using a small backpack or correct small roller case recently?

Nah, I've travelled back for a almost a dozen weddings over the last 2 years and never had any hassle. My bag is a decent size but nothing mad and I've brought my suit too, in a light suitbag and its never been questioned.

A serial weddingist. My sister in law is of the type, constantly angling to be in weddings, offers advice on weddings, and is constantly complaining about being in weddings.

They're pretty cool about bringing suit bags actually, went to a wedding in Germany a month ago, flew out with Aer Lingus, they said nattin', flew back with Ryanair, who forced me to squeeze the suit into my case. kuntz.

Ah stop lads, it seems to be the time of "life". Costing a fucking fortune too, all close friends on her side and mine.
We still have 3 left this year alone but they're drying up after that thankfully.
