JUNE BANK HOLIDAY SUNDAY!!!
After the sold out Disconauts on Easter Sunday and what was ‘gig of the year’ with Vitalic on the May Bank Holiday Sunday this coming bank holiday sees no let up in quality as some of Waterfords finest take over two rooms of The Bowery for a techno, electro, house, 80’s, disco-athon. In the Club: Necksnapper, Ikeaboy, Dancepig, Rory Power & Dave Bridin and in the Pub: Paul Bryan, Daz & Martin Roche. There’ll also be a guest appearance from the Vitalic soundsystem, the one that made the walls shake! Doors open 11pm. Adm 10euros.
NECKSNAPPER: By far the most impressive and popular techno act to come out of the South East of Ireland. This duo have proved hugely popular over the last 5 years at Musiklab events where they’d draw the size of crowd normally reserved for visiting International acts. This is the first of many outings in 2006. Last year’s highlights for them were supporting Adam Beyer, playing Global gathering and playing in a shop window to 400 hundred crazed lunatics of a Friday evening.
DANCEPIG: A remix of the Countdown theme? Who would of thought Richard Whitely (RIP) as a clubbing icon? The swine supported Vitalic last month and what a great job he did. Dancepig's unique blend of italo/electro/techno influenced tracks have been causing a stir world-wide including tingling the loins of one David Carretta. Aside from the Electrolites EP on his own label King Nail Records, in Summer '06 Carretta's label Space Factory is set to release Dancepig's debut international EP featuring remixes from Plastique de Rève and Carretta himself.
IKEABOY: A rare local appearance from one of Waterfords hardest working electronic producers who is now a regular on the Dublin circuit. Snapped up by D1 back in the early part of the decade he ended releasing tracks on Invisible Agent, garnering the respect of Irelands techno community and high praise from figures such as Radioactive man, Mark Broom, and Keith Tucker.
DAVE BRIDIN & RORY POWER: On minimal duties for the opening slot in the club.
PAUL BRYAN, DAZ & MARTIN ROCHE: Daz & Martin have made the bar in The Bowery almost their home away from home, packing the place as they do at their monthly Shakedown residency where their eclectic mix of 80’s, disco & house is going to be complimented by one Paul Bryan for this Bank Holiday Sunday.
Don’t forget there’s indie, funk, soul & house DJ’s in The Bank Bar all day on the June Sunday the perfect way to kick start the day. More information from
