Three courses in managerial accounting. The texts were good with a lot of problem solving in them, which helped (so ask about the texts). Online chats were good. The Internet is more anonymous than a classroom so there very very good and open discussions that got down to how things really worked.

If you keep up with the syllabus like it's the Word of God, practice or work the exercises thoroughly and repeatedly, and participate in discussions you should get a lot out of it.

I'd recommend it for a mature student.

Not a bad thing to say about the ones I'm doing now. Basic, free and easy to understand if you put in the effort.

Excellent. But you must be self motivated with a VERY organized and disciplined social life.

I found it shocking, support was nigh on impossible.

It did motivate me to actually go back college though, I've a year left on a BSc.

DOB, check out www.alison.com - great selection of free courses.

You do need to be disciplined - no distracting sidebars like ... PROC

I took mine through a degree granting program. They specialize in distance learning and I found it well supported. However, if you are planning to pursue a degree on-line, you should know that places that specialize in or are built around distance learning have a lower credibility in the market than a traditional brick and mortar school that has a distance learning program.
