Sunday 6th June The Search for Human Happiness @ LV Bar.

The West Cork wizard continues his popular one man show, taking the audience on one hell of a journey.

Also Best of Luck to all the Cork comedians heading to Kilkenny this weekend. Anyone heading down keep an eye out for the clubs on the fringe, you will get just as good comedy wise as the main festival provides, but at a fraction of the cost.

Just to include the Craichouse Comedy Club in the LV tonight, the lads have gone to Kilkenny for the fringe festival, but Dawn McDonough is running the night to-night. Bit of history here as this is the very 1st time a girl will be in charge of the Craichouse. Headline act is from New York (don't worry he's comedy will be in English and not Irish) and a new act Tom O' Mahony who I rate as the best new comer I have seen since Danail Cahill. So if your around to-night why not pop in and support Dawn.

Well folks another week of comedy in Cork.

Thursday 19th Peter Carroll & Pat O Shea Commodore Commody Season @ Commodore Hotel, Cobh, Entry Free.

The season is nearly coming to an end with only 2 weeks to go, and what a season it has turned out to be. It has to be the most relaxed comedy night to be found anywhere, with a very high level of audience participation. peter Carroll has astounded the audience every week with his amazing talent. From shattering a glass by mind control to correctly predicting the lotto numbers. Pat O' Shea did a great job babysitting. This week we introduce a new comedian to the circuit, Conn O Sullivan from North Cork.

Showcase Comedy @ City Limits Saturday 21st.

These shows are proving to be very popular and great value for money. Jason Coughlin ( has to be Cork's best stand up comedian ) and Chris Kent introduce the new comedians on the comedy circuit. Not sure who is on thsi week but Tom "The Bear" O Mahony is on this week, keep an eye out for this guy.

Craichouse Comedy Club Saturday 21st.

The club will shortly be celebrating it's 6th Birthday and continues to go from strength to strength. I dont know who is on this week (wish they would announce their line up early in the week) but you always get a great show here, and for €5 you get a great night of craic.

Well thats about it, if your looking for something different why not pop in to one of the comedy nights at any of the venues and have a laugh for yourself.

As such no, out side of Midleton and Pat Shortts place, there was a rumour that the Laughter Lounge was going to start a venue but the floods put paid to this. I still think that there is room for another venue, but only in the right place, comedians need another out let.

Been a hell of a long time since I bothered with this but time to resume it again for folks,

Rebels Comedy Club
LV Bar, MacCurtin St
Friday 22nd

This Rebels club is packing them in every week, full credit to Ann Marie and Catherine. this week the headline act is one Robbie Bonham, highly rated by his peers, but more importantly highly rated by me (have to put that as he pops in and out of PROC) Robbie has a very laid back style of comedy, he has gigged all the major festivals and all the top clubs on the circuit. Very likable character and you will find yourself relaxing to his smooth Dublin tones, but be warned he is very quick off the mark. MC for the night is Ann Marie Lewis, Ann Marie learned her craft on the New York circuit, more importantly she survived every Norie gig I gave her. I don't know off hand who else is on the night, but worth it for Robbie alone.Entry €5, and you get a free Jello shot, but get in early as the room packs very quickly.

City Limits
Cobourg St
Saturday 23rd

The cream of comedy to be found here, John Donnollan headlines, to be honest I don't think i have seen him but City Limits only books the best of Headlines so you know he will be funny. MC no doubt be Ross Browne and the support act is the one I recommend for the night Karen McNulty for the US of A, I have seen Karen gig a few times and at the moment she is the best female comedian you will find on the Irish circuit, no doubt in my mind what so ever ( i will get flack from the other female comedians).

Coco's Comedy Club
Coughlans Bar, Douglas St.
Saturday 23rd

Coco's is back and doing nicely in their new home at Coughlans (sweet room) the line up is Headline Chris Talbot, Robbie Bonham and Sean Coughlan. The MC Peter Carroll for me is a must see, Peter is a comic/mentalist and amazes the audience every time, well worth the visit just to catch Peter.

Well if anyone is out and about Friday or Saturday and looking for something different why not support the local comedy scene and the local and upcoming comic talent.

Some more excellent comedy here in Cork this weekend.

Friday & Saturday
Crane Lane
"Adventures of a Missed Nerd, 1 Guy 2 World Cups"
Part of the Midsummer Fest, this is a one man show by local DJ/Comic Ronan Leonard. Ronan did his 1st ever gig in City Limits (Brian always knows how to spot the good ones), very smooth comic with intelligent material that always goes down well with audiences every where. I would recommend folks check him out.

Rebels Comedy Club
LV Bar, Macurtin St
Friday

The place is packed out every week and has now gained a regular following. This week they have gone out with the talent, 1st off MC for the night is Dublin award winning comic Robbie Bonham back again due to popular demand. Very easy going comic who has plied his trade on both the Irish and UK circuit over the past 5 years.

Support on the night comes from Gary White, Richard Clare, Sean Coughlin, Aamir Kajani. Also performing are Aodhrua Mcab, winner of the "Kick in the Bollix" Comedy competition 2011. Aaodhrua is a very quirky comic and highly talented, I like his capabilities of thinking out side the box. Graham Storey, very popular in both the Dublin and Cork scene, always goes down a great treat in the North side ( very few do tbh). Headline act is myself doing about 90% new material on Irish and sex ( I actually do condom demonstrations in my real job..fact)
It's a fiver in and I think this week you get a free pint, check it out to be sure.

City Limits
Cobourg St
Saturday

Patrick Mc Donnell aka Eoin McLove from Fr Ted ( I have no willy) great comic and very enjoyable. MC is Ross Brown with more energy than pack of dogs chasing a cat, 1st class comic. Support is US of A comic Karen McNulty, this lady is the best on the circuit at the moment and well worth a check out.

So if anyone is around why not support local comedy and local talent.
