the 3.8P4 is supposed to be very good, 64 bit, hmmmm, It depends, do you have 64 bit windows or is this for some linux system?

Intel power to performance ratio is well known to be below AMD at the moment.
That's why Intel have recently decided to announce a new portfolio, dropped the Pentium brand, changed their slogan from "Intel Inside" to "Leap Ahead", and spent $2 billion on marketing.
Give them a year and see if they catch up.
