I'm still not convinced that Welbeck is the real deal as a striker Stevie. It's a long time since United have produced a goalscorer from the ranks. Mark Hughes and Norman Whiteside and just before that Andy Ritchie spring to mind.

Fellani a great signing for Man U. Bad business, terrible business even, but a handy player all the same. Not sure how this will affect Carrick's game but it'll be interesting to see.

Interesting to hear that Ferguson's (third) autobiography is being released in a little over a month.

Just in time for Rooney's birthday.

It'll be a tough line to walk in terms of airing his (no doubt considerable) grievances without destabilising things for the annointed one.

You'd hope he has mellowed a little over the years and won't be declaring that he hasn't a crumb of pity for certain cancer victims.

I have "Managing My Life" updated edition. What are the other two Philby.
While his comment seemed a little strong, people who haven't read the book may not know the context in which it was made. The individual concerned was a zealous, religious bigot of the worst kind who made Fergie's life at Rangers impossible simply because the player had a Catholic mother and wife.
The chapter about Fergie's time at Ibrox was aptly titled "Shattered Dreams".

The publishers paid a lot for this and will expect SAF to have a pop off Rooney. Read that Utd are worried that this will de-rail the efforts to bring Rooney back into the fold. Although the media like to 'stir' it - surely Moyes can deal with it by saying to Rooney that SAF is yesterday's man and has zero influence on the 1st team and that just ignore whatever he writes - mind you Moyes sued Rooney's publishers for libel so ......

Moyes is keen to put his stamp on Utd - SAF seemed to marginalise Rooney and Nani last year - IMO they are two players that can make things happen. Nani is far more creative than Young or Valencia and Rooney can play the 'killer' pass.

Nani and Rooney - back to their best with Fellaini being used to good effect would improve things.
Let's see if Moyes can get the best out of Kigawa - He got a lot out of Pienaar and he's fairly similar - Pienaar didn't so well at Spurs.
