Everton do the same with Wigan and smaller clubs

They bid earlier on for Baines but I didn't see any statement beforehand by Utd or Moyes expressing interest - It was speculated on by the media but that's normal.

It definately wasn't know that Utd were after Fellaini becuase they were after Fabregas and IMO would not have bid for Fellaini if they got Cesc.

I think City discussed Lescott.

Mourinho and Chelsea are really acting the cnut wrt Rooney - Mourinho has openly discussed the matter with the media.

Utd have not made any statements about any of their transfer targets - Moyes has just stated that ther are trying to sign players.

I don't know what to think about the pursuit of Baines - if they sign him shortly before the window closes then they may not have time to sell Evra and clubs will only offer a pittance. Having Evra in the squad and not playing would be bad IMO - he's very popular with other players.

SAF was very good to introduce new players - but in recent years he seemed more reluctant - a lot of quality players moved on due to lack of 1st team opportunity - Pique, Pogba, Rossi, Robbie Brady looks better than Young already.

Maybe Moyes should not sign players and give the likes of Lindegard, Adjan and Fabio some game time.

Utd dismissed Chelsea's bids for Rooney as derisory so why are they treating Everton in a similar way - It doesn't portray Moyes very well either.

Evra and Baines both would need to play most games in WC season - Utd would get about £5M for Evra but time is against that and so would replace their left back at a cost of £11M for a player only a few years younger. It does not make sense - why not sell Buttner and buy someone like Shaw ?

Fellaini is an awkward opponent and always gives Utd trouble so he would be a decent addition to the squad but they would be better off spending more and getting a play-maker.
yeah, thats not really working out bar.

Hardly an insulting bid.

An insulting bid would be offering a set of bibs and ball for Messi

Man Utd will obviously need to buy someone. That midfield of Valencia-Carrick-Cleverly-Giggs got the job done against Swansea on Saturday but wouldn't cut the mustard for a club with designs on winning a Champions League.

I rate Fellaini highly and think he would be a fine signing, as he has the versatility to play in a couple of different roles.

Signing Fellaini would be a start but they also need more from other players to take the burden off RVP's shoulders. Unlocking Kagawa's potential and a return to form for Valencia would make them contenders in Europe. Grand to be relying on Giggs's experience for a tough away game at Swansea but someone like Kagawa needs to be playing every week.
