Default Rio - how do people not know???

Baffles me week in week out. Shockingly bad.
Capped last saturday with his "yep, that's going wide, no point ruining my hair" moment.

Seconded by his pass to Bellamy.

Ah, but wait... he's a ball-playing centre half. Hmm, I may be from the old era when defenders actually defended, and long passes were a bonus. Surely it can't work completely the other way around. And for the record - with that much time and space, my gran would do the same. Stick him in any other position on the pitch - honestly - he wouldn't get a sniff.

Haven't read the UK tabloids yet today, but no doubt, his flick on to Big head last night, was probably on a par with Pele's header that Banks saved.
- if not better. Bobby Moore and Paul Mc Grath turning in their......grave and bed respectively.

How , how, how do they not see it??????

Anyhoo, Rant over.

(This rant is currently only superceded by my Arsenal "Shoot, for the love of God, shoot!!!!" rant)

Thought he was poor on Saturday but besides that he is pretty solid and has added to a United defence which has been more solid in the years since his arrival (even though they really miss Neville and Heinze) As i'm tired of saying here as long as he's defending well i don't care what happens and the odd mistake aside he's done very well. The ball-playing bit is actually important for a team who likes to retain possession and not simply boot it away for the whole match and he does that well too.

heading is the weakest part of his game, but I have to point out,the header for Ruuds tap in last night was probably the first time he's won a header in the opposition penalty area since he joined us, so maybe he's improving.

anyway, defence isnt our biggest problem, its that woeful area in the centre of midfield, taxi for fletcher please and can someone please tell Fergie, sorry,Queiroz ,that smith isnt a relation to a midfielder
