Default 100 Jobs To Be Created In Co Cork

US company NETGEAR is to create up to
100 new jobs in Cork following its
decision to set up its international
headquarters in the city.

The company designs, develops and
markets networking products for small
business and home users worldwide.

Set up ten years ago in California, its
designs are manufactured in China and
Taiwan and then sold through
traditional retailers and online.

NETGEAR chairman Patrick Lo said a base
in Cork will allow them offer a better
service to their international

He said Cork was an ideal location
because of its infrastructure, multi-
lingual capability, highly skilled
workforce and 'ease of doing business'.

Recruitment for positions in finance,
technical and IT support, HR ,
operations and product marketing has
already begun.

The establishment of the company's
international HQ in Cork, with the
support of IDA Ireland, has been
welcomed by Minister for Enterprise,
Trade and Employment, Micheál Martin.
