For me, especially as he got older, Donncha O’ Connor possessed two of the most fundamental qualities of a forward in Gaelic football. First and foremost he contested every ball with unwavering courage and honesty no matter what kind of ball it was. Secondly, he kicked the ball with absolute conviction off either foot

I can only assume that Donncha acquired these qualities through his own hard work, application and hours of practice and while I appreciate that great players don't always make great coaches, I would agree with RightHalfBack that the CCB could do a lot worse than employ him as a forwards’coach.
