Switzerland did thier job, fair play to em.
Ireland didnt, fuck em.

Our qualification was lost in tel aviv and in landsdowne against israel.

Kerr, never the man for the job, this proves it.

Time to go.

Also im gutted for given, he's world class, kept us in it so many times this campaign.
Works his fucking back off for nothing, and then he has to go back to the sad pack of losers who will never win anything at newcastle.

It'll be a shame if he ends up with no medals when his career is over.

Absolutely gutted and sick as a pancake this morning.

Besides famine, death, murder/death/kill, there is nothing more depressing than watching the World Cup and not having your country involved. In a way I'm glad - surely the bigwigs will dip their toe in the water with Martin O' Neill now. I still think the bones of a very good side is there. After the save Shay pulled off last night I said to one of the bhoys that surely the outfield players would now be inspired to go for victory. How wrong I was.

As for Kerr, every single one of our players looked like they were waiting for someone else to do something last night. That's his fault. International football is easy - find a system that suits the players and motivate. MON would be a revelation

I'd love to see MON there, but do you honestly think that a) he'd take the job? and b) that the FAI will actually appoint someone decent???

As regards a) I think the job would be perfect for him. He left Celtic because he couldn't devote his time fully to us. His wife is extremely ill. Turning up for work once every six weeks would suit him brilliantly. Like I said already, a system and motivation. Look what he did with the Celtic side.

As for b) I think they would go for him. I'll be extremely disappointed if we don't at least hear a rejection. that'll mean they didn't even try. Looking through the Swiss line up last night there's only one or two players you'd recognise and even on 80 mins they were pushing forward. Kerr simply didn't set us up properly.

I know, I know - putting all my eggs in a shoogly basket.

If they don't at least attempt to get him then we are screwed and screwed for good - not because we didn't get MON but because the FAI aren't looking for the best candidates.

Dalglish was mentioned last time before Kerr got the job. What better than having someone the players respect?

FAI - do the decent thing.
