Default Up Hands

anyone who thinks that Oxegen was given a well-deserved kick in the ass concerning how to hold a festival this weekend?

Agreed-the thing is now they've had a lot to prove will they continue to prove it or get lazy like Oxegen? I reckon EP will get better though but they are two very different festivals and the more the better. I'd love an Electric Picnic kinda event to come to Cork though eventually, that would be a dream come true.

Didn't make it to the EP, but from what I heard I'm gutted i chose Oxygen this year. All the reports from the EP have been great.

I will definately be going to the EP next year unless Oxygen manage to get someone that I can't live without seeing.

Bad error on my part this year - sure i'll know for again...

well,i honestly thought that from last years performance (of EP) that oxygen would be shaking in their boots...

but this weekend seals it.

you'd be mad to choose oxy-shit-gen ove EP if you had to choose one, unless you REALLY wanted to see someone in particular on the line-up.and even then...

one concern though.

the booking of james cunt and shitboy slim shouldnt really have happened, unless if to show them up.they're crowd-pullers by name only.more of that could really wreck the buzz of EP,i think.

and as a final parting note,i propose a bass tent at next years.
that shit was done right, sunday night, and i hear saturday's was as good.

oh without doubt, the more mainstream acts they get the more it will attract knackers...

That would be our dream, but seeing as we find it hard enough to do anything in cork, i wouldnt hold out much hope.

A load of people from places like limreck, galway, dublin, cavan, more or less all around ireland had heard of the sound system and about us in general which was great. It was also great to have simon conway from electric city and the bodytonic lads play for us, without doubt nearly the best 2 underground club nights in ireland.

Saturdays was great, especially the fire works, i remeber looking down the road at one point and seeing at-least 300-400 people around us and going to myself how did all these people get here!

haha.

i heard about 5 different groups talking on sunday(our tent was at the path-side) about how much it was a shame the cops shut it down "cos it was great and nobody minded".and i went in to our tent for supplies at one point,to see a steady stream of people goin in and out to it!

id say it it was like organising a gig and not having to worry about doing any promotion. the crowd was a given. besides a few adventures on the 'dancefloor' i was happy to just pan out and soak it all up. bass lads should be well proud. cant give em enough praise for what was really a major highlight of the weekend

Yeah - fair play lads. Wicked stuff. They should encourage everyone to bring soundsystems next year - get a "burning man" vibe going down. The more effort people put in the better.
