Default Bubbly???

There's a growing tendency for hotels, restaurants, etc to promote offers where they mention "accommodation, evening meal, and a glass of bubbly on arrival."

What are they saying? We're too cheap to spring for a glass of champagne??

I've heard reports that people have been served that cheap sparkling cider, and even asti spumante!

So, in the interest of transparency, just say "a glass of something fizzy" without all this horseshit about "bubbly.
