Default Duddy vs Smichet

What a fight - duddys left eye ended in a mess (well it was a mess by round 4) - duddy just kept coming forward besides the fact that he decided to block with his head - great heart by duddy - very intense battle - duddy wins on points. Perhaps fight of the year.

is repeated on sky sports 1 at around 9 tonight - catch it if you missed it

eh hello? the fight showed that duddy is mediocre at best. Pavilk who was watching must have been laughing his ass off. as for Duddy winning as his opponent said "look at my face, now look at his, i think you can see who thw winner was"

i wasnt singing duddys praises i was singing the fights praises compared to the heavy weight fight i know which one i would have paid to see. that said there was only one winner in that fight - you can damage a guy in one round does that mean you should win all 10?

Pavilk isnt exactly duck and weave himself - Duddy showed in that fight that he can take a punch, it wouldnt surprise me if he went out with the attitude of getting hit to prepare himself for Pavilk. That said Duddy need another 7 or so tough fights before he is ready for Pavilk.

AGREED ABOUT THE HEAVYWEIGHTS

but duddy was punished in every round. one judge scoring it 95 95 was the closest to reality. can see how the others scored it 98 92 to duddy though. plus pavlik might not be classical duck and weave but he knows what he has to do not to get hit plus he hts a lot harder than schmit does

hence why i wouldnt be surprised if this was part of the learning curve

great fight though and you can see why duddy can fill the garden - people pay excitement. Far too early for Pavilk though

It was a great fight for an undercard. I had it level after 6 rounds and gave Duddy the last 4.
He eye was destroyed and that will require a rest for that to recover. Hes no way gonna be ready for Pavlik..werent they talking about early June. To eager to impress the locals after having his last few fights in Ireland...he hasnt done himself any favours with those cuts.
Good Chin in fairness and he is a nice boxer but hes only gonna go so far, he will be found out by someone more heavy handed.
The crowd really do love him over there though, the place was practically full for the fight

watched this yesterday. duddy's box office because of his style, but he's far from world class unfortunately. i think andy lee would destroy him.
