Aquatic centre is good fun actually. Just make sure you call ahead to check if the slides etc are open cos they don't open fully 7 days a week over the winter.

Agreed on the food in the Zoo, its absolutely awful.

The National Gallery is great too.

I should point out at this juncture that I don't have kids.

Natural history museum, or the "dead zoo" is also pretty popular with kids
