Cork City FC are pleased to announce the signings of Alan O’Connor and John Tierney. O’Connor, 24, joins the club on a one year contract from Munster Senior League side Rockmount, while Tierney, 19, was previously with Limerick 37. City boss Alan Mathews told CorkCityFC.ie of his satisfaction with the signing of Tierney, saying: “John is a promising young player with a bright future in the game and we would like to think that he can prosper at the club.”

Mathews also said he was very happy with to have signed O’Connor: “Alan has been training with us since the start of pre-season. He has impressed in training and also in the friendly matches we have played, and of course he scored against Wexford at the weekend. He’s a local lad and he is a good addition to the squad. He has really improved in the few weeks he has trained with us and has shown a great attitude. I would also like to thank Rockmount for allowing him to train with us, and it is to their credit that Alan has come on board with us.”

What? Funny man. Round of applause............ .

Anyway, the team was Devine, Lordan, Murray, Mulcahy, Ryan, Kearney, Gamble, O'Callaghan, Sullivan, Behan, Mooney.
According to one Dungannon fan, it was the most one-sided 2-0 he'd ever seen.
