Jenas has signed a 5 year deal. Oh the joy.

*Although he did have a very good game at Old Trafford.*

Too depressed to post anything on this topic yesterday. If ever there was a reason to fire Martin Jol this is it. Handing this plank a five year contract. ffs

RCK, I think people may lack the understanding of what Martin Jol's exact role at the club is. He certainly doesn't have the final say over who is bought and sold so I doubt he has control over the signing of contracts by players already at the club. I'd say it's Commoli who's in charge of all of that kind of thing. Having said that, Jol seems to pick Jenas automatically when he's fit.

Hard to know how much control he has over player contracts. But I would be amazed if he wasn't a big factor in Jenas getting a 5 year deal.

Martin Jol has tendered his resignation before the Getafe game and it has been accepted by Spurs Chairman Daniel Levy

Tottenham are reportedly planning a £30million bid for Valencia striker David Villa.
The Spanish international hitman has become one of Europe's hottest striking properties since moving to the Mestalla.
Now 25, he's bagged 45 goals in 80 games since joining Los Che from Real Zaragoza.
Most of Europe's top clubs have been linked with a move for Villa - with Real Madrid and Liverpool rumoured to be among his suitors.
But now it appears that Spurs could also be in the race, with former Sevilla boss Juande Ramos apparently desperate to bring him to White Hart Lane.
One sticking point could be the reputed 150 million Euros (around £100million) buyout clause in Villa's Valencia contract.
But the player's agent Jose Luis Tamargo told The News Of The World: "Many clubs have contacted me to ask about the chances of a player who is guaranteed to score goals in England.
"But I am convinced if Spurs present an offer Valencia will study the subject."

cant see him going to the lane even if ramos might be a factor,if he was to leave valencia it would be for the reals of this world,do spurs need to splash out more money on strikers?
