Default Sports Podcasts

Any good sports podcasts to reccomend?
Something different to the off the ball/second captains generic stuff we all know about?
The best I've listened to in a long time is Professor Ross Tuckers new one, he and Mike Finch host it and its riveting stuff.
It's called the Real Science of Sport Podcast and covers a huge array of different elements of sport science from the technicalities of rugby, running shoe technology, what it takes to ride the tour de France, drugs in sport etc.
Couldn't reccomend it highly enough, its really brilliant.

Hmm, Eamos The Stand soccer stuff is entertaining if a little valley of the dinosaurs.
Used listen to the Guardian's football weekly walking the dog but tbh it has disappeared up it's own hole with the matey matey vibe.

not sure if it’s day to day podcasts you want or what.

30 for 30 podcast is excellent but it’s all documentaries.

some great stuff in there. from a five part documentary about bik ram yoga to the beginnings of ufc and world series of poker.

i think they’re into the fourth season now which deals with donald sterling and the LA clippers.

I know fuck all about American Football, Baseball and Tennis. I care even less.

But Sports Wars chronicles various rivalries in the form of a narrative. It's right up my alley.

Great suggestion, have already worked through a couple of those pods. Cheers.

I'd throw a few into the mix:

- The Blizzard
- The Football Spin
- The Reducer

At the very start, there's mention of a previous episode talking about WWI era. Have you a link to that? Interested to hear if my Great Grandfather gets a mention, but I doubt it.

Paul Rouse has done a series of podcasts on the history of sport with off the ball during this pandemic. There's been about 8 or 9 so far. You'll find them on otb.
I haven't had a chance to go back and listen to any of them yet but they're on my list whenever I get a chance.

The Paul Rouse podcasts are excellent. He is fascinating to listen to on the subject, very informative also and a lot to be learned for the future by looking at the beginnings of GAA etc. His book on The History of Sport in Ireland is a very good read.

It's likely to be this one (but I've not listened myself)
