Default Official PRoC Betting Challenge 2019/20

Hope nobody minds me stepping in to get this thread rolling.

Folks might be tempted to have a nibble for the Open or perhaps an ante-post bet in the football if they see some value in the early odds available.

Reigning Champ: Nelly_Sham esq.

Starting bank: 200pts

Max bet stake: 10pts

Betting frequency: Everyone has to make at least one bet in any given month (except July 2019)

First bet must be in by: August 31st

Last bet: The night of Champions League final 2020

Exclusions: no exchange bets, no specials, etc

In-play bets allowed?: Generally no, but some exceptions allowed (e.g. bets placed at the end of round of golf, bets placed on outright competition winners in most markets as long no game are ongoing when the bet is placed)

If you're not sure, log the bet to trigger a review by the group. If no concerns raised within 48hrs the bet stands.

May the best (hu)man win.

Would it be worth making a season long bet too?
As an opener e.g. Southampton ex Big 6?

I look forward to watching Sale vs Harlequins to see if my overs come in again!

Also, Philby, this is the season. VAR in effect.
Penalty missed and Penalty scored. This. Is. The. Season.

Absolutely. I find the competition more interesting when folks have a mix of long-term bets (e.g. top scorers, league winners etc.) and bets on individual games.

I can't but agree

...that you are more likely to land this lunatic bet this season than last season

Remind me folks, are 0.5pt e/w bets (which "cost" 1pt) on the golf acceptable?

Of course. 0.01pt each way is acceptable. Stretching it to three decimal places would trigger an EGM and may lead to days of deliberations however.
