As a proud Glenman and Corkman I'm naturally great fan of Hoggy's but it's impossible to claim he's even "probably the most skillful / artistic / pleasing on the eye hurler ever"

A great hurler without a doubt. And we'll miss him when he's gone.

It's like he plays in a telephone box because he can actually take a half swing almost chopping down but pop the ball it comes and for me the best stick player I ever seen for the Rebels.
I hope to God he gets his Celtic Cross.
It would be great to see him win an All Ireland ,can you think of any other Cork player to carry so much consistently.
By his standards he was off form a little yesterday but still 😀immense

I suppose you’re right in that I can’t say ever but at least in my lifetime. I’m not talking about the best player here but more in terms of style. The way he can get a shot off with no real space is something even the best hurlers can’t manage. He is far more stylish than Henry Shefflin for example, while shefflin is obviously one of the greats.

Shefflin had great teams around him, if he was a cork man he would have won zilch and be forgotten now.

Ah Jesus man that’s some pile of shit. If Shefflin was a cork man we would probably have won All Irelands in 2000/2003/2006 to go with 99/2004/2005. He was an incredible hurler and ferocious competitor.
Cody hasn’t a sentimental bone in his body yet Shefflin always played even when half-fit. If he was a Corkman we’d be talking about naming the new bridge after him. You have to be on a wind up!!

Hoggy is a legend. One of the best ever to wear a Cork Jersey. It would be a travesty if he finishes his career without and all Ireland.

Just looking at his stats there are wiki. Don’t think it includes yesterday, but 20 goals and 485 points in 61 games. That is simply incredible.
