Default D-Day

I always watch some of the tv programs around this time.

I enjoyed Guy Martins one the other evening about the parachute drop.

I loved Max Hastingd D-Day book.

Also Peagasus Bridge is a great read.

Apparently some 93 year old vet who had parachuted onto the beachhead 75 years ago repeated the parachute jump this morning.

Brave brave men

Those that landed in those wooden gliders and took Pegasus bridge must have been out of their mind-brave men indeed.

I seen that. He landed hard too. Christ his body would be so brittle at 93. Fair play to him.

Glider landings were essentially crashes.

Some people died, some knocked unconsious and some physically ejected from gliders.

Indeed...a rare breed of young men.
