What's all that about? Do they not realise other drivers are not mind readers like. It's not always obvious someone has slowed down that they are actually going to stop. One has to wait a small bit to be sure.

When I wave people on I simply gesture calmly and the person drives on....not this frantic carry on.

It kinda annoys me😏
It's easy really, when some people get into a car they act like they can't be dragged out of it.

It's about you as a driver asking a courtesy to be allowed cross in front of on-coming traffic and when someone graciously accedes to your request, you're too busy picking your nose/day-dreaming/changing channels on the radio/etc to bother paying attention to other road users. And the driver who has waved you on out of courtesy, realising that not alone are you holding up traffic behind you, but he/she is holding up traffic behind them, all waiting for you to give your attention back to driving. Your disregard for the other polite drivers ensures that they'll probably think twice about allowing another twat a similar manoeuvre that day

Nope 😝And I already responded to exactly the same thing earlier in this thread.....it's you that's not paying attention.

Perhaps that's it ....most people are away with the fairies and when they come across someone who is ready to go they just treat them the same and start waving , cos that's what they usually have to do...😏

Just in relation to this: if you are waiting to turn right, make sure to keep your steering wheel in the straight ahead position.

If you have your front wheels pointed right while you are waiting and someone rear ends you, you will be pushed into the path of oncoming traffic.

I remember reading a report on an inquest into a passenger who was in a car that this happened to.

The car was waiting to turn right, got rear ended, and was pushed into the path of an oncoming HGV.

I answered your question when I read it. Unlike you it seems, I don't read down through the thread first before posting my answer to the question put. And the fact that someone else independently gave you the same answer it seems that you just don't want to be told.

Congratulations on your selfishness and F**king things up for other road users
