I was the loser watching a patched up team take on Maccesfield Town last night, and losing to Preston at the weekend

Friendlies are a nonsense from a fans point of view, luckily for Liverpool who are 2-0 down. They're only useful so the players can sweat the gatt out of themselves after the hols in Marbella and so the new blood can learn to communicate with the others. The craziest thing about friendlies actually is people betting on them.

Christ, that must be some full on warm up routine for Gerrard and Carragher. Alonso must have just got sympathy pains from his couch.
