Dwyer and Ring would be my preference for 2016 with yes , Sully as selector. I think we should not expect huge things in 2016 . Next years minors have not performed well down the years , and maybe a two - year plan with up to 10 players in first year minor in 2016 could be involved .
outside of the lads who played minor this year there is some serious talent out there the likes of tadgh deasy blackrock cashman of Lisgoold jack ryan from sliabh rua and cian o mahony from ballinhassig is a serious player

The dangers of bringing a guy in directly as manager with little or no experience shown up by the Darragh O' Se experiment with Kerry.

Waterford using ex players well. Shanahan with senior panel, Mullane and Browne with minor/u21 teams. They're not in as bainisteoirs but are around the squad, helping out at training sessions, etc.
Get them involved with young players who would have grown up watching them playing for the county. Cork should be doing the same with team of the last decade if they're interested.

No point waiting another five years as the minor team then will barely remember those players in their playing days.
Likewise with the footballers - now is the time to sound out likes of Canty, Murphy, O' Leary etc. re role with underage teams. Kissane obviously a guy interested in management/coaching. Was he even approached wrt a role with Cork?

give sully a shot yes denis ring had the lads well prepared this year (as he should have) but 2nd year in a row that he couldn't get them over the line. We have had loads of close calls over the last few years at minor/21 last minute goals extra time defeats etc but maybe we need a manager that is going to inspire the lads more. I would think the minor management did a good job in improving each player but ultimately their tenure has not been successful results wise and that's not to disparage their abilities as there was a bit of bad luck thrown in as well, 2 years is enough time to give a management team and when I mean success at least getting fellas to a semi final in croke park is what we should be measuring success on

Be it Denis Ring again or someone else, would they ever appoint him and his selectors now whilst the minor c'ships are ongoing. The u16 finals are already done and dusted.
Seeing how a lad performs in a premier club semi final or final may be a better indication of how he will do in a tight inter county c'ship game then performances in AvB development squad games or challenge matches up the country in Jan/Feb.

In the semi final against Limerick, with possible exception of Coleman at half back, we didn't have any lads willing to be leaders on the field and help see out the game from a winning position.

No point having manager and selector appointed after lads have finished hurling for the year. They can still look at Harty Cup games which is also valuable but only a small % of teenagers will get to play in that competition.

Might as well link this in here . Harty 2016 draw

Group A
1 Ardscoil Ris
2 Hamilton High School Bandon
3 De La Salle Waterford
4 Blackwater CS
5 Midleton CBS

Group B
1 Col. Baile an Róistigh
2 Gaelcoláiste Mhuire A.G.
3 Charleville CBS
4 Our Lady’s Templemore
5 Pob. Sc.na Tríonóide, Eochaill (Youghal)

Group C
1 Thurles CBS
2 Coláiste Cholmáin Fermoy
3 Nenagh CBS
4 Scoil Na Tríonóide Naofa Doon

Group D
1 Castletroy CC
2 St Flannans College
3 Christian Brothers College Cork
4 High School Clonmel

With eight Cork schools , it was always gioing to see a few drawn together but FOUR schools together in one group . Christians could've drawn worse ?

Interesting that there's no school from Dungarvan in it, was only a few years ago they won an All-Ireland.

At work someone told me the Donal Og coached St Colmans cruised past Cloughduv last night in 1/2 final of Minor B hurling and Sully is nowhere to be seen with his club only showing up at weekends school holidays with Rebel Og squads where as Ogie is Mon, We'd, and Fri with St Colman's U18's

That's complete bullshit. Whatever about coaching O'sullivan practically carries Cloyne on his back at times, not bad for a guy nearing 40.

Premier 2 Championship, not B. 2-18 to 1-11. Young Josh Beausang of Russell Rovers is the main prospect off that team. Should feature heavily for Midleton CBS this year in the Harty

Sars v Fr. O'Neills in the Premier 1 semi final on Friday night at 7 in the Mardyke should be a cracker for anyone looking for something to go to
