Didn't they sign Hansen and Souness that year as well for 110k and 350k respectively?

Apologies if that came across as snarkey Jim. It wasn't meant to.

🤔
Souness was signed around February 1978 which was about the same time that United signed Joe Jordan.

Liverpool sold Keegan for more than they paid for Dalglish.
Probably one of the best pieces of transfer business ever.

Echoes of Ricky Lambert immediately replacing that Latin American lad.

👌
That's very true Jim as I remember it. KD fitted that Liverpool side like Cinderella's dancing shoes.

One of the things about really top players is that they are hardly ever injured ie Messi, Dalglish played over 30 league matches(usually 42 for Liverpool) for 14 seasons in a row 1971-85. I didnt realise himself, Hansen and Souness were all signed so close to each other for a total of say 1m. A lot of money at the time but what great business. remember a year later Forest paid 1m for Trevor Francis.
