Must be one of the great photographs of hurling --when men were men and only the bravest ventured into "Hells Kitchen"

Too right. Was at a wedding up there yesterday and the place was bedecked with red and black. Delighted for them. Talking to a lad in the hotel and he was teling me that the rangers had asked Oulart for a challenge couple of months back. Oulart apparantly sent up their intermediate team. The rangers were'nt best pleased. Think it showed today.

Nice line at the end of that article...

Presumably a note of congratulations will be read out at the next meeting of the Cork County Board.

Dead right they are too. Hopefully the enlightened Mr. Corcoran will be as vocal in his congratulations as he was dismissive of their efforts at the last meeting

This comment by this fella in the comments on the Hogan Stand article is insane.

Limerick ultimately saved themselves being well beaten by in my opinion, by one of the best minor teams I have ever seen win an All Ireland. Waterford were simply head and shoulders above the rest of the country this year. I know Limerick beat them in Munster but that wouldn't have happened in Croker. - See more at: http://www.hoganstand.com/ArticleFor....GYnDtAkf.dpuf
This is the same Waterford team that barely beat a Cork team with a bad manager and who had a player wrongly sent off after a Waterford lad dived to get him sent off in the first place.Waterford to be fair made the most of their luck and they are deserving all ireland champions but there's only so much bending over backwards that i can do!
