A lot of options to partner O'Shea at CB, none of whom inspires that much confidence however. The rest of the team pretty much picks itself.

What about Wessi which we both left out. Would he be better starting Belgium game when we will have less ball probably than Sweden game hopefully.

Played very well, it was a fierce battle out there Sweden are a physical team and technically alright, felt not getting the goal in the first half when on top came back to haunt us, we probably should of won, but you'll take the point.

Good point I felt, played really for an hour and deserved to be ahead, Sweden came back well and either team might have grabbed a winner towards the end . Onwards and upwards .

Walters achilles injury may keep him out of rest of group games.

With 3 groups having 2 wins by the big guns, it's very likely that 3 points will be enough to go through and an outside chance that 2 points will. If Ireland could draw with Belgium and Italy beat Sweden, then Ireland Italy will be a dead cert to be a 0-0.

If Ireland draw with Belgium and Italy defeat Sweden, we would at least enter the final game with a fighting chance of qualifying if we could sneak a 1:0 against Italy, Italy then to top the group with 6 points with us in second on 5.
