Here's a solution why don't the good people of the board donate a couple euro towards new one ?
With over 22,000 members I'm sure the site owner could get a decent one

And that thread was more of a "why the fuck?" thread. I've found out the probable reasons since.

As happens often, when someone comes along with a compelling argument, my creaky old mind has been changed. I traded it in for a sleek new shiny one.

Persuade them to take the same stance with the frigging server will you?

IBM have come up with a 120 petabyte "hard drive".

That's 120,000,000 gigabytes. That's only slightly less than the entire content of the whole tinternet and, according to Wolfram Alpha, about the same as Data from Star Trek.

That oughta hold 'em over.

Either donate money to help them out or quit your whining. I complain about the state of the place as much as the next man, but unless I actually pay them I'm not entitled to expect anything from the PROC admin.

The fuck do ye think ye are, like?

"They take us for granted"?

Me ring.

Any proccers out there who'd like to offer free hosting? Provide a new server? Stump up the costs for a better package for the lads? Pay a nominal fee every year to use the site? Order 100 hoodies online?

No?

Stop yer whining then. Half of it is to do, as Smeggle said, with people not knowing how to internet. The other half is not understanding that while it's not free, ye don't pay for it. The lads who came up with the idea in the first place do. Ye're entitled to nothing but the sense of entitlement ye're all feeling, for all the good it'll produce.
Are they not making money off of advertisements and the shop?

Hardly providing the service out of the goodness of their own hearts.

Love the site, but come on.

It's not our site. It's their site.

The ads are a bit much, but they're where the money comes from. Not us. The advertisers are the customers. We're the market.

As an advertiser and a user, I've found the PRoCAdmin a joy to deal with.
