Global leader when it comes to human rights?????? What exactly did Ireland do when the Israeli Army were shooting live rounds into peaceful protestors? What did they even do when Spanish Police were batoning peaceful protestors in the streets of Barcelona? What human rights exactly have Ireland been a Global Leader in defending?

What about those three Palestinian youngsters playing ball on a beach last year that were deliberately targeted, shelled, and killed? They weren't even protesting but Ireland did hee haw in objecting to it.

Or the guy who was with his young son cowering from Israeli military sniper fire that were both shot dead.

Or the time that Mossad went and assassinated an opponent and then made good their escape using Irish Passports.

Or the fact that American soldiers in uniform were stoating about Shannon town-centre recently and again hee haw done by Irish Government

Global Leader on human rights my @rse

That's what happens in war, innocent kids get killed.
As for the "innocent" protesters, they were warned, approach the wire fence you will shot, throw petrol bombs you will be shot, throw burning tyres you will be shot. Adequate enough warning there. And as for global leader on human rights, I never said we were.

War? So you admit the Israeli army is involved in a war against the Palestinians, in Palestine.

These people were protesting against the illegal taking of their land and the illegal settlement of the land by Israel.

There have been quite a number of UN Resolutions that Israel continues to contravene yet Leo and his pals in Government continue to look the other way.

You did claim that this was just a "lefty whinge thread" when people were critical of Ego Varadkar (supported by God from U2 ) trying to get the gig. Maybe if you wised up a little you'd understand why, with Ireland's Government bending over backwards to repressive regimes like that in Israel, so many people find it abhorrent

War, conflict, whatever, (insert what you deem fit) they are fighting against each other. Where the protesters warned they will be shot if they approach the fence? I thought you have no issue with people being killed once a warning was issued?

As for your last paragraph, just your usual tripe.

You say they are fighting against each other - one side is reduced to using stones and knives while the other has tanks, gun-boats and a full suite of modern armaments right up to and including nuclear weapons. Your "war" (the term you chose to use) is akin to a heavily armed man breaking into a house and taking on the shouty young teenager within who's family had been living there for generations and can only offer token resistance to the burglar.

Israel has taken their land by force of arms and retains it and houses settlers in said lands in contravention of UN declarations.

The Israeli army killed something like 125 unarmed men, women, and children last month just for being too close to an arbitrary fence. The children playing football on the beach that were deliberately targeted and killed by the Israelis - have you any excuse for that? Or the deliberate shelling of known UN sites or schools?

How would you feel if an external army decided to annexe the Northside and was shooting dead men, women, and children who even approached the north channel of the Lee just because they said they wouldn't countenance anyone protesting.

The Israelis shooting unarmed men, women, and children dead for taking part in such protests was not proportionate and contravened UN guidelines.

Looking forward to reading your excusatory tripe

You've answered none of the questions put - quelle surprise.

"if keep throwing stones at someone eventually the will throw back a bigger one. "

That's an interesting take on the conflict there. ze germans would probably have used such an excuse for invading Sudetenland

No real surprise you find the whole thing something to smile about though
