Question on RTE, guys.

I had the bar in Barcelona switch from Sky to RTE, but naturally with the all crazed interisiti afterwards, it was hard to hear what was being discussed.

Did I hear Dunphy ludicrously assert that "Inter were an average team full of average players" [in the context of bigging this up as Mourinho's greatest triumph to date]? Has the man taken leave of his senses?

Looking at that Inter team- Julio Cesar, arguably the world's best goalkeeper; Maicon (indisputably the world's best right back); Lucio (no better centrehalf in world football over the last 18 months); Samuel (back to his menacing best after disasterous Real spell and niggling injuries); Chivu (a fine cente-back and a more than competent left-back to boot).

The promising David Santon not used.

Midfield: Motta is no worse similar enforcers Mourinho has used, such as Tiago; Cambiasso has come back to his very best form again and is a fine player; Zanetti, simply a freak of nature and one the greatest players in the chequered history of Inter, even at this late stage of his career; Sneijder, a superb schemer who illuminated Real Madrid in his first season and Euro 2008 and was let go for a song to make way for Kaká.

Attack: Pandev has been a fine player for many years, a great acquisition after Lazio's farcical mishandling of his and Ledesma's transfer requests; Eto'o- not much needed to be said, doesn't score as much but works his bollocks off for the team and still one of the best finishers in world football; Milito- okay, I've derided him in the past as being no more than above average, but i'm eating those words. He's shown himself to be a proven big game player this season, and keenly intelligent to boot. Okay, he's not in the absolute top bracket of world strikers (Villa, Torres, Rooney, Drogba, etc) but he's certainly in the second bracket alongside the likes of likes of Higuaín and Luis Fabiano.

Back up in various areas of the calibre of Ivan Cordoba, Dejan Stankovic, Mario Balotelli, McDonald Mariga, Muntari.

Can someone tell me how that constitutes an average team with average players? Has Dunphy finally lost his mind, or did I hear him wrong?
