Very sad.
No doubt an increase in road tax or ncts will be the governments answer. Pieces of shit

But surely road fatalities should be reduced by now, or maybe they are tackling the problem the wrong way.
Maybe fixing the fucking roads up a bit might save some lives???

IF someone has no tax or insurance why not just take the fucking car off them there on the spot. Anyone been to court at all and ever listen to cunts caught on their 20th offence and shit like that. Get those fuckers off the road in the 1st place at least.
Drink driving (sorry Danny Healy fucking Rae with your two glasses of Guinness), but same, take the fucking car off them. I think it requires draconian measures for some stuff to get thru to people.
The gubberment tho' just see these as a revenue stream with applying more penalty points and collecting fines.

You're onto something there actually.
Boxymo insurance for young drivers puts a GPS type device into the car and if they go over the limit then the insurance company is triggered. So why not out onus on Insurance companies to ensure that the you drivers -they are insuring- to adhere to limits.....
"BoxyMo is a clever little unit that looks out for you every time you’re on the road. It’s easy to use and even easier to install. BoxyMo uses GPS and other technology to send information about the way that a vehicle is being driven. The information we receive is used to help you drive safer and reduce the costs of your insurance - Makes Sense, Right!"

Most accidents are caused by people going too slow. If they were going faster they would have been further up the road and therefore avoided the accident.

The bottom line here is there is no enforcement of road traffic laws.
Gardai due to a lack of resources are only in a position to respond rather than patrol.
Traffic Corp are only out and about at weekends in force and especially leading into holiday weekends etc.
No amount of renaming the Traffic Corp or decorating their vehicles with super duper reflective stickers is going to do the job.
If people think they are going to get caught for speeding/ driving dangerously/ tax / insurance/ nct, then they would behave in a totally different way.

Ross upto his usual stuff.
So if you are 1km over the speed limit you will get penalty points. This will be challenged at every juncture in the courts.
