Default GAA/Emigration...

Would they ever shut up about this? Least of people's concern when they can't get a job/pay bills is the local GAA team.

Such a backward,ignorant organisation.

Every day I see artcles about how the GAA is losing players. Yes the biggest problem with the recession/unemployment is all the GAA player's we will lose. Idiot's.

I think some Cork player's went on TV begging for a job.

Fucking embarrassment.

GAA clubs are often the only thing going on in rural towns and villages. aside from the sporting aspect of struggling to field teams local clubs give people a sense of pride and purpose - social coehsion and shit. ergo emmigration isnt just hard on those who 'have to' leave but that it also affects those they leave behind.

Its very 'Dublin' to discard the lives of people living in rural Ireland.

The big deal is having to go abroad, find a job, leave your family behind - not leaving the local team.
