Default RTE’s guinea pigs

Yes folks a new batch of guinea pigs tonight, you can almost hear them squeal. Operation Transformation, it’s not about weight loss it’s about having the whole country either laughing at you or crying with you so RTE can raise their ratings.

I disagree. its not for everyone, me included... but if it gets people out walking/jogging and trying to be a bit more clever about what the eat then that has to be a good thing. most will fall off the wagon before the show even ends but if some people latch on to it and end up with a healthier lifestyle long terms, they and their families will be glad of the kickstart. The organised walks and ParkRuns around the country are a great social outlet for folk.

That being said im amused every year by the chicks in the office here going mad on crash diets - off together to buy a giant bag of fruit for lunch, struggling to even make a microwaveable flahavans porridge pot. the penny still hasn't dropped, eat pretty much whatever you like in moderation and just move a bit more!

62% of the population is overweight apparently so this guff isn't working.

People need to live healthily all year round, not make pigs of themselves in December and purge themselves in January.

RTE aren't even trying these days. Every second show is cheap "reality" shite.

They have some 1916 drama on now complete with false accents, if actors can’t talk with the accents of the period they are portraying they need to be replaced with actors that can. The wind that shakes the barley for instance with cillian Murphy and his Nancy boy accent. I know it was done by a Brit but that whole film was pure car crash.
