I think Hillsborough has recorded the highest average attendance outside the premiership over the course of the season.

I will get over it.

I would be a lot worse if it was my beloved Neptune losing a final.

Sheffield Wednesday are delighted to report that the club finished top of the pile in League 1 in terms of the support received over the course of the season.

The Owls' average attendance on home soil weighed in at 21,336 - by far and away the highest in the division.

The SWFC average attendance also bettered 17 Championship clubs and three in the Premier League.

To go hand in hand with the home attendance, the Owls also came out on top in the average away attendance league - with Wednesday fans having supported the club in their numbers on the road all season long.

Of course the biggest attendance of the campaign came on the final day of the season when a remarkable 38,082 fans flocked to Hillsborough to witness Wednesday regain their Championship status after beating Wycombe 2-0.

This attendance was the highest outside of the top flight in 2011-12 and also higher than ten Premier League side's biggest attendance of the season.
