As somebody pointed out already , in 83 kerry were gone after we beat them
that made it even sweeter,

Gone? They went onto win 3 in a row before Cork finally won in 1989 don't forget!

gone from the 83 championship.

we beat them this year and we could see them again in the final ( I guess there's something to stop them turning up in the same group of the super 8s)

conceivably, in the new system you can beat a team twice and still lose to them in the final

I remember it like yesterday. Was surprised minor game even went ahead. Tadhgie goal was mana from heaven. I fell in love that day (for my sins)

Blackrock End, absolutely soaked but the big bottles of Carling, “smuggled” in from one of the rowing clubs gave heart until the delirium of the final whistle.

10/10 would do again.

I had been at every MF since 1976 replay. Due to the terrible weather I stayed at home that day because it was very possible that the game could have been called off. Bad decision but the day after I headed to Dingle for a week's holiday. Great fun with Padi R.I.P. in Kruger K's. He was very gentlemanly and sporting to me and my mate.
