I might be hard to answer but it should be easier to say who's not.
Cork GAA fans, a fickle bunch of glory chasers. Don't support their team through the bad times.
Munstershire, plastic fiachras who don't know the rules of the game, go to the non glamour ties.
Premiershit, I've see Old Trafford and the Emirates packed out and you can hear a pin drop, its clear despite the numbers that there isn't much passion. Maybe the real fans have been priced out. I thought Liverpool were different but apparently they only get going for the big european nights, and this has been voted the ground with the best atmospshere in europe.
SO whats left, from Danny Dyers show, I'd be going with some of the South American clubs but i haven't got enough evidence to back it up.
Went to a couple of baseball games once, pretty shit, till people get pissed.
The Koreans at their world cup looked decent but i'd say it was more of a bandwagon element.
From what I've seen of Argentine football and rugby fans, they've gotta be there or thereabouts.

I remember thousands of them being in a poorly attended pre-Charlton bandwagon Lansdowne Road in 87 for a pretty drab 1-0 Irish victory (Liam Brady scored) and the Brazilians, of all different sexes, races and sizes , celebrated as if they were watching the World Cup final, even when losing

I would agree with you here, in relation to the home EC games and big Away games.
There is a core support of fans though who will watch a Celtic League match on a freezing Dec night or travel to Italy for a crappy away fixture in the EC pool stages.
If Irish rugby goes into a major slump (very possible with Steady Eddie not having any new players to replace the old guard) we will see if the bandwagon comes to a crashing halt
As you state yourself, glory hunting "fans" are in every sport. Wankers always seem to get tickets though
They were thumped two nil at home by Spurs last year in the UEFA cup, and the fans never stopped going crazy right to the end , I never saw anything like it. total lunatics !!!!
