That's not the fucking point here. Anyone can be an asshole, whatever the colour. Stop trying to come across as edgy; it doesn't suit you.

Im not.

The fact team mates arnt too pleased with the guy migjt suggest he isnt a popular figure in the dressing room.

Anyone that engages in racist taunting is a brainless twat but antagonosing supporters is also pointless.

Let your football do the talking and let the cctv get the dopes banned for life.

Still no result of the FA investigation into the abuse James McClean gets every year, no surprise there as he is Irish.

Jesus. Truly depressing post. How exactly can he antagonise people into doing something they are already doing? How can you suggest he’s a jerk without any proof and make no judgement whatsoever about the bizarre and unsupportive stances of his teammate and manager which hardly portray them in a good light? Do nothing about this and nothing happens. It just goes on and on. CCTV cameras don’t educate anybody. For a 19-year-old kid his response was mild, restrained and heroic.

Inter Milan's Curva Nord (ultras) have written a letter to their team's player - Romelu Lukaku regarding the Cagliari's monkey chants towards the striker on Sunday...

Yes. This is actually real.

Hi Romelu

We are writing you on behalf of Curva Nord, yes the guys who welcomed you at your arrival in Milan.

We are really sorry you thought that what happened in Cagliari was racist.

You have to understand that Italy is not like many other north european countries where racism is a REAL problem.

We understand that it could have seemed racist to you but it is not like that.

In Italy we use some “ways” only to “help our teams” and to try to make our opponents nervous, not for racism but to mess them up.

We are a multiethnic fans organization and we have always welcomed players from everywhere. However, we have always used that “way” with other teams’ players in the past and we probably will in the future.

We are not racist and so are not the Cagliari fans.

You have to understand that in all Italian stadiums people cheer for their teams but at the same time they use to cheer against the opponents not for racism but to “help” their own team.

Please consider this attitude of Italian fans as a form of respect for the fact they are afraid of you for the goals you might score against their teams and not because they hate you or they are racist.

True racism is a completely different story and all Italian football fans know it very well.

When you declare that racism is a problem to be fought in Italy you just help the repression against all football fans including us and you contribute to create a problem that is not really there, not in the way that is perceived in other countries.

We are very sensitive and inclusive with all people. We guarantee you that in our organization there are many fans of different races or fans coming from other parts of Italy that also use this ways to provocate their opponents even when the have the same races or are coming from the same areas.

Please help us to clarify what racism really is and that Italian fans are not racist.

The fight to REAL racism has to begin in schools not in the stadiums, fans are just fans and they behave in different ways when inside the stadium as opposed to when they are in real life.

I guarantee you that what they do or say to an opponent player of another race is not what they would ever say to someone they would meet in real life.

Italian fans may not be perfect and we can understand your frustration with this expressions but they are definitely not meant to be racist.

Once again ...

Welcome Romelu

So monkey chants, definitely not racist.

John Barnes has told Jadon Sancho to ‘go into the real world and see what real discrimination is about’ after the England star admitted seeing players racially abused makes him question why he plays football.

The 55-year-old has suggested footballers, due to their privilege and wealth, don’t know what real racism and discrimination is.

Barnes joined talkSPORT on Tuesday and spoke passionately about the many cases of footballers suffering abuse from supporters and online since the start of the season.

Former Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku is the latest player to be targeted, with Cagliari fans making monkey noises at the Belgian as he scored a match-winning goal for new club Inter Milan over the weekend.

Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford, Tammy Abraham and Kurt Zouma are among the other players who have been recently abused by online trolls, which has reopened the debate on how to better combat racism in football.

But Barnes says it will always be a problem for the game as long as it is present in society and insists clubs, governing bodies and authorities have ‘got it the wrong way around’ in their fight against it.

And he has called for footballers to use their voices to fight the issue of racism and discrimination in wider society, not just in their own sport.

“We have to get it out of society before we can get it out of the game,” Barnes said on Tuesday’s Sports Breakfast.

“It’s impossible to get it out of the game as long as it exists in all walks of society.

“As with homophobia and sexism, you can’t target any one industry, you can’t target Hollywood with Harvey Weinstein and say, ‘well if he goes to prison there’s got to be no more sexism’.

“It’s ridiculous. We’re doing this the wrong way round!

“These incidents will keep on happening until we get rid of racism in society. It exists in all walks of society, in which football is just one.”

Barnes also issued his response to Borussia Dortmund winger Sancho, who has said players will start falling out of love with football if it racial abuse continues.

He added: “You love football because of the game, not because of some idiot who is going to shout at your from across the street.

“If Jadon is going to fall out of love with football, let him give up football and let him go into the real world as a young black man without an education and without being able to play football, then he’ll see what it’s really like to be a black person who is racially abused.

“As much as footballers want to talk about how terrible it is for them, look at what’s happening in the black community of kids without an education and who haven’t got jobs.

“If he thinks that’s bad [the abuse of footballers], let him go into the real world and see what real discrimination is about.

“We’re now coming full circle, we’re trying to get something to change so lets get these black superstar footballers to tell us what we should do and tell us how terrible it is for them.

“What they should do is use their voice to talk about discrimination where it really hurts people in the inner cities with kids who can’t get jobs or opportunities.

“He’s signed a nice new contract, is he willing to give that contract up because he’s falling out of love with football? I don’t think he is.

“Let’s not get it blown out of proportion.”
