A friend wants me to transfer money to him via his paypal address. He says I can pay by credit card or postal order and it doesn't matter that I don't have a paypal acccount myself.
I didn't want to provoke his ridicule by asking "how do I transfer the money so?" so I am asking here instead.
How does this thing work so? (I'll probably still be ridiculed mind!)

It's cheaper to do a bank account-to-bank account transfer.

Kids are far to fancy nowadays
I thought that myself too. I know how it works now, but I do need an account with paypal to pay him, I dunno how he worked out that I don't. I just can't be arsed registering with them.
Tryed to put money from mine (ulster bank) to the mothers (bank of ireland)
and had no joy.
I transfer money reguarly between my account and other people's accounts for free. I've never been charged for it, unless it's an international transfer, in which case it's £10 and you get a commercial exchange rate, which is far better than normal.

PayPal will charge around 3% to the person receiving the money, so if they really want to be paid through PayPal, the cost is their burden, not yours...
