Default Cancelling Eircom Service ?

Im cancelling my whole account with eircom. Phone/Broadband

Before i ring the bastards, does anyone know whats the story with doing this, as in how much notice you need to give them.
Eircom contract says if you cancell before the end of the contract that you have to pay up to the end of the contract. But if your cancelling cause your not happy with the service does this give me the right not to pay (not that i would but i don't want them naggin me)...

If you're breaking contract you will be penalised.
Max possible is full amount of revenue they would have got from you,
along with a potential admin/ cancellation fee.
Unless you can try argue that the service broke the 1980 sale of goods and supply of services act... ie, it wasn't up to scratch.

Good luck though, cancelling an account with eircom is one of the most tiresome and long winded processes you will ever endure.

Smart Telecom are the way to go. I got them in and they're class! Great, friendly people and much cheaper than Eircom.

Indeed. I think it took me 3 months. It was worth it in the end though. The fuckwits.

By the way, when I was moving house and wanted my phone cut off I just stopped paying the bill and wrote them a long letter telling them how much I hated them. Down towards the end of it I put in my new address and told them they could send my last bills there if they wanted to. I got them a few weeks later. Nice to know that I forced a real human being to wade through my lengthy rant. Imagine if they had to do this for everyone who wanted to get their phone cut off. They wouldn't be long changing their tune I'd say.

I heard an Eircom Broadband ad on the radio yesterday. One of its selling points apparently is its "unique technical support". I'm not joking! Uniquely fucking non-existent more like.
